Hernia of an intervertebral disk

Recently on reception to me came the woman complained of strong burning pains in a lateral part of the right hip.

The Patient has already visited many various medical centers and clinics.

Here are necessary to say some words about intervertebral hernias, « pressing» a nerve and « being the reason » of a strong pain.

With rare exception, which only confirms a rule, if the hernia pressed a nerve in spinal channel of a backbone the patient would be immobilized, and not just suffere from a pain. In fact as it’s known to experts, back root, really sensitive, and forward - impellent before going out from intervertebral apertures unite. The nature for what would not allow a situations in which person would lose an opportunity to move. Otherwise we were gnawed by wild animals in immemorial times. That’s why the output of spinal nerve is located 2 fingers lower than spinal disk, and even displacement of the latter (that is a hernia) cannot become the reason of a jamming of a nerve.

Why so often there are hernias in pictures at pains in a back?

The matter is that pains as well as hernias of disks have as the reason muscular disbalance..

The Pain can arise only in those places where there are painful receptors or receptors crossed with painful (for example nerves of a stomach are connected with nerves of skin of a back between scapulas), and owing to superfluous stimulation of any receptors (if long to look at the sun, eyes will begin to hurt). Most of painful receptors are located in places of an attachment of muscles and in fascias that is "bags" in which there are nerves, vessels, muscles. By the way, the pain is from here arising on a course of a nerve or on a course of a muscle. Our patient’s pain was concentrated on a place of an attachment of small cluneal muscle. After using osteopathic antitension technics the patient has ceased to feel of a sharp pain. But treatment didn’t end on it.

Why in this case all pathological systems have converged on small cluneal muscle?

For this purpose it is necessary to examine briefly the theory of muscular circuits created by French osteopaths. Muscles of an organism do not exist separately, each apart, and are connected with each other in system of muscular circuits. Thus the same muscle often is a part of several muscular circuits. It is distinguish a circuit of an inclination, a circuit unbending, cross circuits: front and back, and also circuits of opening and closing.

In norm all the chains should be balanced, but more often, unfortunately it appears that one circuit gets greater pressure than another. Except for that in organism laws of cybernetics - a positive and negative feedback work. That is the intense chain constantly sends signals to nervous system and the nervous system in its turn strengthens a pressure (a positive feedback). At this time excitation in chains to which the central nervous system « does not pay attention » accumulates. As soon as other signal overcomes a signal of the most intense chain (in described case it was nervous stress) nervous system which operates by a principle « all or anything », reacting only on main - the prepotent stimulus, ceases "to notice" it. The muscular circuit became the most intense not casually.

The patient’s muscular circuit compensated a problem brachiocephalic trunk (a vessel feeding a head and a hand) and relieved an organism of a skew because of a pressure of this vessel. And this task was not removed from it. For the lack of participation of the central nervous system it found new control centre - a muscle being in the greatest excitation in the given circuit - small cluneal muscle. And forced it to incur function of maintenance of the tone. As a result this muscle from a constant pressure began to hurt in a place of the attachment - in the field of a hip. As it was told earlier the greatest number of receptors are in the field of an attachment of muscles.

Besides this muscle using spondyle as the lever has created conditions for creation of a hernia.

This mechanism becomes more clear if you put between two leaves of a paper the third and two top to twist in the different sides. Thus the Medial leaf will slip out. In our case small cluneal muscle twisted the bottom leaf in one side, and a nervous pressure, causing a pressure of cervical muscles, twisted the top leaf in other side. On the place of an average as it is possible to guess there was an intervertebral disk. That’s why it also slipped out. Thus he strengthened discomfort in the given area.
